The confirmed women's teams are UVM, UCONN, Bryant, Siena, Holy Cross, Brown, BU and Iona. The men's teams are UVM, UMASS, Bryant, Providence, Holy Cross, Brown, Hartford and Sacred Heart.

Women's games begin at 8:00 am on all four fields of Thayer Academy's OFF CAMPUS turf facility. Women's games finish at 2:00 pm. Each team will play at least three games with 20 minute running halves.

Men's games begin at 11:00 am on the first three fields of Thayer Academy's OFF CAMPUS turf facility. The men's teams will be playing two full length scrimmages each and their games will finish at 5:00 pm.

We could not be more excited about partnering up with Tommy Johnson this year. He has created some amazing pictures for us. His black and white can be found above and he is currently working on an acrylic painting for the foundation. Both pieces of art will be made into prints and the proceeds from the prints will be donated to cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. 2011 Men's Teams Confirmed

The 2011 men's teams include University of Vermont, Bryant, Sacred Heart, Hartford, University of Massachusetts, Holy Cross, Providence and Brown. The men's teams have decided to play two full scrimmages instead of three 40 minute games.

Hello fans,

We are busy planning 2011's event! This year we will have a number of exciting additions including a women's lacrosse tournament. We have teamed up again with the men's and women's lacrosse teams at the University of Vermont and will host both women's and men's college lacrosse scrimmages throughout the day on Thayre Academy's off-campus turf fields. Ten women's teams will compete Sunday morning October 9th and ten men's teams will compete in the afternoon.

The Adrena-crew has once again decided to sponsor the Catamount Classic: Lacrosse for a Cure. We are very happy to help the Vermont Catamounts raise money for their third annual lacrosse tournament. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

In 2007 a member of the Vermont Lacrosse team was diagnosed with testicular cancer and the team has since been committed to providing awareness and support in any way possible. Last year the Catamounts donated over $40,000 and we are extremely happy to help them beat last years mark!!!

We sent a box filled with lacrosse gear to the Jimmy Fund last week. We included four complete Maverik lacrosse sticks, signed event shirts, and Adrenaline Lacrosse socks. The Jimmy Fund is going to hand them out to pediatric patients during the holiday season.

We wrote a check for nearly $40,000 yesterday and put it in the mail to the Dana-Farber Special Events Team. A huge thank you to everyone that sponsored the event, donated money, attended the event, and volunteered. We are extremely grateful that we have had the opportunity to donated nearly $60,000 to testicular cancer research over the last two years.

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The second annual Catamount Classic - Lacrosse For a Cure held at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Mass., on Oct. 11 raised nearly $40,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. More than 3,000 fans attended the 11-team tournament that included Adelphi, Albany, Bentley, Colgate, Holy Cross, Le Moyne, Massachusetts, Robert Morris, Siena, Western New England and Vermont.

The Catamount Classic is also providing the Vermont Cancer Center and The Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber with signed event t-shirts and four Maverik lacrosse sticks as gifts for their pediatric patients.

A lengthy list of sponsors and vendors included: Adrenaline Lacrosse, The New England Lacrosse Journal, US Lacrosse, the Boston Cannons, The Boston Blazers, Atlantic Sportswear, Brine, Warrior Lacrosse, Maverik Lacrosse, STX, GB Web Creations, Tennessee's Real BBQ and more. Many of the vendors have also sponsored the event. Other sponsors include Thayer Academy, Direct Invest, U Rent It, The UPS Store - Burlington, VT, TD Bank - South Burlington, The Hampton Inn, Sheraton Hotels, Fallon Ambulance, SportSprite.com, Powerade, Squirrelcat Design Face Painting, US Lacrosse, America East and Vocalist Wise Rokobili. In addition, several University of Vermont students and staff served as volunteers.
In 2007, a member of the UVM men's lacrosse team was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The player had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and was able to start for the lacrosse team that spring. Although he was treated in Vermont, the player followed a treatment plan from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and with incredible strength and determination is in full remission. After seeing how this disease can affect someone and those who care about them, the University of Vermont Men's Lacrosse Team was determined to help educate other student athletes about this disease.

University of Vermont head men's lacrosse coach Ryan Curtis and his wife Kelly started the Catamount Classic - Lacrosse For A Cure in 2008. Ryan and Kelly previously lived in Boston, Massachusetts, before moving to Vermont. While living in Boston, Kelly worked at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Genitourinary Oncology. She has planned, and has attended, numerous cancer walks and events. Together with the help of the men's lacrosse team they found a way to raise awareness for testicular cancer while creating the premiere fall lacrosse event for New England college lacrosse fans and teams.

UVM Fall Golf Classic

The Catamount Classic sponsored a hole at the University of Vermont Fall Golf Classic which took place at Vermont National in Burlington. We sold drawing tickets and collected donations throughout the day. Our generous donors gave nearly $300 to our cause. Thank you to everyone that participated in the Golf Classic! BRAINTREE - Some of the nation's top collegiate lacrosse players will be in town Oct. 11 for the second annual Catamount Classic tournament.

In addition to off-season games featuring 11 college teams, the event is designed to raise awareness of testicular cancer and proceeds from the event will go toward research toward a cure at Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Boston.

Kelly Curtis, the wife of University of Vermont men's lacrosse coach Ryan Curtis, said the team adopted the fight against testicular cancer as its cause when a former player was diagnosed with the disease two years ago. He made a complete recovery in time to play the next season, she said.

"It really shook the team up," said Kelly Curtis, who is organizing the event with her husband. "At 18 to 21 years old, you really think you're invincible."

2nd Davis Center Fundraiser

The second Davis Center fundraiser was held September 25, 2009. Wise and Ben performed for us again and drew in the crowds. The team collected over $125 dollars and handed out hundreds of informational brochures. You can find the team in the Davis Center Wednesday and Friday over the next two weeks. Come out, grab some candy, pick up a brochure and support a great cause.

The team held a fundraiser Friday, September 18th at the Davis Center. We invited Wise Rokobili to join us and sing to the students. The team gave away all of our Dana-Farber hand outs and passed out over 250 testicular cancer information booklets. Weather permitting we will hold another fundraising event on campus next Friday outside the Davis Center. Together the team collected more then $250 to donate to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
